Player Spotlight - Danny Balderson
During the final three years of his university eligibility, the team was ranked #1 in Canada for much of that time. In the 1999-2000 season, the team took it all the way to the national championships in Halifax, N.S, losing out in a heartbreaking 80-75 semi-final game.
Player Spotlight - Katie Keith
From humble beginnings to a storied high school career, Katie always looked to her mom for inspiration. “When I was quite young, I was always around my mom’s team at the college, looking up to all these females who were playing at a post-secondary level. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world that they were at such a high and intense level.”

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have been busy off the ice since the announcement of the end of the 2019-2020 season due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Earlier this week, the Lethbridge Sport Council announced its annual award winners. Among them was the Lethbridge Steel women’s tackle football team, picking up the Knud Petersen Spirit in Sport award.
